Pianist, Artistic Director of “New Musical Generation”

Music is a universal language, understandable to everyone who has a soul. I'm a pianist myself, and so music for me is my whole life; it is a driving force that brings the most beautiful ideas to life. Love and devotion to music inspired us to create the organization “New Musical Generation”, which over a couple years has achieved what initially seemed impossible.

From the beginning, we followed the principle – don't lie to the listener. Music can be heard and lived through only when it is performed at the highest professional level, along with passion and talent. The programming and artists are meticulously selected in order to always adhere to our uncompromising standards. Perhaps as a consequence of this approach, we are experiencing packed concert halls, passionate applause and sincere support of our audience. During only a few years we grew, searched and, finally, matured... resulting in a new breakthrough.

This summer from July 7th through 17th, we will present the inaugural “New Musical Generation” Summer Festival and Academy, which will consolidate in one space some of the most talented young performers from all over the world who will bring a real music feast to Vilnius. The main idea of our festival is to create a unique creative atmosphere that will inspire all its participants and audience.

In addition to the concerts, we are inviting students to participate in the festival's academy. During the course of the festival, they will receive individual lessons and perform in masterclasses for our master performers. I believe the festival academy will be a great source of inspiration to those young students who aspire to find new colors in their playing and who seek to understand the importance of the artist's role in conveying classical music to the listener. This academy will provide an amazing experience for every student and pupil, at the beginning point of their career. They will have an opportunity to learn from musicians who are constantly performing themselves. In addition, the “New Musical Generation” is continually searching for new talent, to invite to the organization and to help develop their career. Therefore, we will draw attention to those who potentially can become NMG artists in the future.

I would like to thank all my colleagues and everyone who helped to organize and support this event. I'm especially grateful to our sponsors who have made this musical feast possible.

I warmly invite all of you - listeners, students and pupils - to participate at our festival. I believe that it will be a life changing experience!

Sincerely,

Kasparas Uinskas

“NEW MUSICAL GENERATION”

“New Musical Generation” (NMG) is one of the leading performing arts organizations in Lithuania, presenting the most talented young musicians of classical music on an international scale. It works with a wide range of instrumentalists, including pianists, violinists and vocalists.

The mission of NMG is to present classical music on the highest level by constantly searching for new, young, exceptionally talented musicians; helping them to develop careers; and attracting new audiences to the concert hall, in particular young people.

To achieve its goals, the organization is active in several areas: NMG represents international artists working exclusively in the field of classical music, organizes concerts in prestigious Lithuanian and world concert halls, and implements educational programs for young people.

Since its founding in 2006, NMG has organized many successful concerts for internationally acclaimed young artists, including Lithuanian pianist Kasparas Uinskas; the winner of the XIII International Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow – pianist Miroslav Kultyshev; Austrian pianist Ingolf Wunder; Ukrainian pianist Alexei Grynyuk; opera singers Sandra Janušaitė and Eugenijus Chrebtovas; violinist Diana Galvydytė; Russian violinists and the winners of many international competitions, Andrey Baranov and Sergey Malov.

“New Musical Generation” has presented its artists at world famous concert halls, including Berlin Philharmonie; New York’s Carnegie Hall; and London’s Wigmore Hall, where it organized the hugely successful 2009/2010 London debut for pianist Miroslav Kultyshev and the solo recital for the pianist Alexei Grynyuk.

NMG also organizes and implements educational outreach programs at high schools and music schools in Lithuania. Featured artists of “New Musical Generation” meet the students and talk about classical music, illustrating their stories with live performances. To date, this program has been presented to more than 7000 pupils, many of whom now attend classical music concerts more often.

“NEW MUSICAL GENERATION” SUMMER FESTIVAL & ACADEMY

“New Musical Generation” is presenting its first summer festival and academy, July 7-17, 2010, in Vilnius, Lithuania. Each evening, some of the most talented young musicians from all over the world will perform solo or chamber music concerts and, during the day, they will teach festival academy students at master classes and individual lessons. Students also will have an opportunity to attend all concerts without a fee.

This festival is an ideal environment for young professionals to connect with and learn from established professionals and preeminent musicians who can be influential in their career path.

“New Musical Generation” constantly searches for young and talented musicians and later promotes them on an international scale. Therefore, if it discovers outstanding students at the festival academy, there is a strong possibility that it will include them in future concert series.

The festival and the academy will take place at three venues: the Dance Theatre (evening concerts),
